Russia’s Saratov region asks restaurants to donate part of their profits to support soldiers fighting in Ukraine
The government of Russia’s Saratov region has sent a letter to local restaurant owners calling on them to make monthly payments to support soldiers fighting in the war in Ukraine, according to the Telegram channel Soykaperesmeshchnitsa.
A copy of the letter was shared in a private restaurateurs’ chat by Elena Pavlova-Rusinova, the owner of the restaurant “Dacha.”
“They’re asking for regular financial assistance for participants of the ‘special military operation’ — 0.2 percent of a business’s monthly turnover,” she wrote.
The letter states that the funds should be transferred to the Saratov region’s Labor and Social Protection Ministry. It also urges recipients to “share this information with all representatives of the industry.”
